What you will refine together before the tattoo
Before she starts drawing, Alex will discuss the design, references, placement, size and level of detail with you.

Placement and anatomy
She adapts the composition, direction and size to the part of the body being tattooed.

References and an original design
She first discusses the material you have sent. If needed, she then prepares or develops the sketch, usually on a tablet.

Shading and legibility
Alex chooses the contrast, density of shading and level of detail according to the size of the design and its placement on the body.

A final check before starting
Before the session, she checks the sketch, size and placement with you once more. You can agree on a break during the work; a longer piece can be divided into several visits if needed.

What kind of project is a good fit
You do not need to know the names of tattoo styles. Simply describe the design, mood and placement on the body, or send a few examples.
Black-and-grey realism
A design based on a photograph, work of art, sculpture or architecture, rendered in black and grey.
Graphic work and whip shading
A design built around strong lines, contrast, texture and a smooth transition of shading.
Gothic, horror and large projects
A Gothic or horror design for a sleeve, back or another large area, planned over several sessions.
Cover-ups and reworking
She can cover or refresh an older tattoo. Scar cover-up is assessed individually.

Before starting, she explains the process, checks the placement and answers your questions.
When the studio will recommend another artist
Alex focuses mainly on black-and-grey tattoos, although she can add a colour accent to some designs. She does not do full-colour realism or large areas filled only with black. Tattoos in intimate areas must be discussed with the studio in advance; there are some placements she does not tattoo. If another style or artistic approach is better suited to your idea, the studio will recommend a different artist.
The path to tattooing

She has been interested in drawing and art all her life. She attended art school in Russia for eleven years. In 2018, she completed a tattoo course in St Petersburg, followed by another in the Czech Republic a year later. She has been tattooing since 2019 and continues to study through online courses.
In tattooing, she is interested in how a drawing works with the shape and movement of the body. Her main focus is black-and-grey realism, graphic work and whip shading. For every design, she makes sure that the linework, contrast and level of detail suit its size and placement. She works on small designs, sleeves and large back projects. She has an ongoing project for one client that is gradually covering almost the entire body.
Outside tattooing, she enjoys the sea, horror and film make-up.

How the process works
Send the material to the studio
Send your design or references, together with the placement on your body, an approximate size and whether you want a black or colour tattoo. For a cover-up, include a clear photograph of the existing work.
Consultation
During the consultation, Alex refines the design, size, placement and level of detail with you. For a first tattoo, she also explains the session and aftercare.
A sketch for the specific placement
She creates the sketch from scratch or adapts it from your material, usually on a tablet. She tailors it to the specific placement on the body.
Book through Tattoo Bar
The studio handles booking and practical arrangements. On the day of the session, Alex checks the sketch, size and placement with you.
Before the consultation
Is Alex a good choice for a first tattoo?
Yes. Alex will go through the design, size and placement with you, explain the session and aftercare, and answer your questions.
Do I need a finished sketch?
No. Simply describe what you like and send a few references. During the consultation, you and Alex will refine the design, composition and details.
Can I send my own photograph or image?
Yes. Alex can work from your photograph or image and, where necessary, adapt the size, composition and level of detail to the specific placement on the body.
Which styles does Alex focus on?
Alex focuses mainly on black-and-grey realism, graphic work and whip shading. She tattoos both small designs and large compositions, including sleeves and back pieces.
Can Alex cover or refresh an older tattoo?
Yes. Alex works on cover-ups and refreshes older tattoos. First send the studio a clear photograph of the existing tattoo, along with its size, placement and the result you have in mind. Scar cover-up is assessed individually.
Does Alex work with colour?
Yes, she also uses colour accents. She does not, however, create highly colourful realism. For that kind of brief, the studio will recommend a more suitable artist.
How do I get a price estimate?
For an estimate, send the studio your design or references, placement on the body, approximate size and colour preference. For a cover-up, add a photograph of the existing tattoo. The studio will then clarify the price and next steps.
